Employee Spotlight: Alma Fincham

Alma, one of our newer employees, works in the Crozet paint department. She always has a smiling face and helping hand when you walk in the doors, ready to help in any way she can. Her kindness is contagious! Get to know Alma more in her spotlight interview below!

What do you like most about your job at BRBS? “Our customers and my great co-workers.”

Describe your journey at BRBS. “I started here at the paint department in June 2017 and I’m still here learning something new every day!”

Describe “a day in the life” of your job. What do you do in a typical day? “I get here at 6:45am and hit the ground running most days, mixing paint, stocking shelves, and waiting on customers in general.”

What are a few of your favorite hobbies outside of work? “Spending time with my two granddaughters and reading.”

What is your favorite movie, TV show, or book? Favorite musician or music genre? “Coal Miners Daughter, Law & Order SVU, Country music: Luke Bryan”

Where is your favorite place to visit or vacation to take? “Sandbridge Beach”

Describe your family. “I share my life with my fiance Perry Shifflett, I have two grown children, Heather and Brandon, and two granddaughters, Gracie and Leah.”

What is your biggest goal for the next 5 to 10 years at BRBS? “Continue to learn all I can about our paint department.”

Name 3 words you would use to describe what BRBS means to you. “Family. Trust. Stability.”

What is at the very top of your bucket list? “Get a college degree.”

What is a random fact that most people don’t know about you? “I love to crochet.”

What is one thing you’ve learned about yourself since working at BRBS? “I love getting up early and getting my day started.”

If you could go back to when you first started your job, what is one piece of advice you would give your past self? “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”

What is your motto in life? “Live in the present, not in the past.”
