Employee Spotlight: Marcus Freeman

Marcus works at our Greenbrier store in Charlottesville, and is a familiar face there on the sales side. He can always be found with a smile and a laugh, as well as a helping hand to any customer who walks in the door. Get to know Marcus better in his spotlight interview below!

What do you like most about your job at BRBS? “The people I work with.”

Describe your journey at BRBS. “My brother Michael told me about the job, and Dennis and Dale hired me.”

Describe “a day in the life” of your job. “Working and having fun while doing it.”

What are a few of your favorite hobbies outside of work? “Music and sports”

What is your favorite movie, TV show, or book? Favorite musician or music genre? “The Office” and “Remember the Titans”

Where is your favorite place to visit or vacation to take? “My church, OBX, and the Bahamas”

Describe your family. “I am blessed with a beautiful wife (Kirsten) and son (Carter).”

What is your biggest goal for the next 5 to 10 years at BRBS? “Become the best employee and someday become a manager.”

Name 3 words you would use to describe what BRBS means to you. “Family, work, friends”

What is at the very top of your bucket list? “Go to a Dallas Cowboys game, and go cage diving with great white sharks/”

What is something most people don’t know about you? “I enjoy singing in my church.”

What is one thing you’ve learned about yourself since working at BRBS? “I tend to joke around too much…haha!”

If you could go back to when you first started your job, what is one piece of advice you would give your past self? “Learn to listen and follow instructions better!”

What is your motto in life? “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliot

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself? “I’m a Christian–the greatest day in my life was May 4th, 2003, when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I love my life and the people in it!”
